 Banks asked (ejv n‡q‡Q) to freeze (&¯’wMZ ivL‡Z) accounts of Momtaz Begum

Transactions (†jb‡`b)  in her personal and business accounts (e¨emvwqK wnmve)  will remain (_vK‡e)  suspended (¯’wMZ)   for 30 days

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has instructed (wb‡`©k w`‡q‡Q)   banks to freeze (eÜ ivL‡Z)   the accounts of Momtaz Begum, a folk singer (cjøx wkíx)   and a former (mv‡eK)   member of parliament.

The anti-money laundering agency (UvKv cvPi †iva ms¯’v)   issued (Rvwi K‡i)   the directive (wb‡`©kbvwU)   yesterday to suspend transactions (‡jb‡`m ¯’wMZ Ki‡Z)   in her personal and business accounts for 30 days.

 

Banks were also ordered (Av‡iv Av‡`k †`qv n‡q‡Q)   to suspend (mvgwqK eÜ ivL‡Z)   the locker facility (jKvi my‡hvMmyweav)   in the name (bv‡g)  of the former lawmaker from Manikganj-2 and submit ( †ck Ki‡Z ejv n‡q‡Q)   all transaction records (mKj †jb‡`‡bi weeiY)   of her.

 

Biman appoints first female flight operations director

Captain Tasmin Doza has been appointed (wb‡qvM †c‡q‡Qb)   as (wn‡m‡e)   the Director of Flight Operations at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, marking (m~wPZ Ki‡Q)   the first time a female pilot has held (`Lj K‡i‡Q/em‡Q)   this position (GB Ae¯’v‡b)   in the country's aviation industry (wegvb wk‡í)  .

Biman issued (Rvwi K‡i)   an office order (Awdm Av‡`k)   today confirming (wbwðZ K‡i)   her appointment (Zvi wb‡qvM)  .

Before taking on (MÖnY)   her new role, Captain Doza served (KvR K‡i‡Qb)   as the Chief (cÖavb wn‡m‡e)  of the Training Flight Operations Department at Biman.

A graduate (¯œvZK)   of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), she earned (AR©b K‡ib)   her flying license (DÇqb AbygwZ cÎ)   from the Bangladesh Flying Academy. Throughout (e¨vwc)   her career, she has served (KvR K‡i‡Qb)   as an instructor pilot (cÖwkÿK cvBjU)   for Fokker-28, fleet chief (eni cÖavb)   and instructor (cÖwkÿK)   for Boeing-737, and an instructor for Boeing-787 Dreamliner.
